The foundation skills in the learn to swim journey is critical. Laurie has a passion for teaching infants and toddlers and cannot stress the importance of providing a learning experience that will result in the child loving the water and being safer around the water.

Laurie will take you step by step through how to teach specific skills based on the growth and development stages of infants. Topics include:

• 8-12 months – skills include extending breath control, self-submersion, free floats, turning and mobility, water safety and more
• 12-18 months – skills include underwater swims, kicking, swim arounds, back floating, water safety and more
• 18-24 months – rotation and mobility, independent swimming, propulsion, breath control and safety skills
• 2-2.5 years – unaided turns, climbing out of the pool, water safety, using a board and more
• Infant swimming and safety skills – looks at each of the safety skills to teach.
